Product & platform

AI product development: from wireframe to production SaaS in 3–6 months.

SaaS vendors, scale-ups, and AI labs inside mid-market companies: we build products powered by LLMs — with close attention to API costs, latency, production hallucinations, and GDPR. Faster time-to-market, without cutting corners on the fundamentals.

Fixed fee · Equity-friendly · Build-Operate-Transfer

Audience

Who this is for: SaaS vendors, scale-ups, intrapreneurs

This offer serves three profiles. SaaS vendors who want to embed AI features into an existing product. Scale-ups launching an AI-first product. Intrapreneurs running a new AI lab inside their mid-market company. If you are an SME looking for an internal AI agent, the AI Agent Design page is a better fit.

Our product-side edge: we have already built and shipped AI SaaS products for third-party clients. We know the traps — runaway API costs, latency, production hallucinations, GDPR, LLM procurement, observability. We accelerate your time-to-market without cutting corners on the fundamentals.

Stack

Our default stack (adaptable to your case)

Katalyx's 2026 product stack for AI SaaS:

  • FEFrontend: Next.js + Tailwind + shadcn/ui (App Router, SSR, edge functions).
  • APIBackend: Python 3.12 + FastAPI or Node.js + Hono. REST + WebSocket APIs for LLM streaming.
  • DBDatabase: Postgres (Supabase or Neon), pgvector for vector search, Redis for caching and jobs.
  • LLMLLM: OpenAI / Anthropic by default, Mistral for data sovereignty, Bedrock / Azure OpenAI for enterprise constraints.
  • Orch.Orchestration: LangChain or Vercel AI SDK for streaming, Inngest for async jobs.
  • InfraInfra: Vercel for the frontend, Fly.io / Railway for the backend, or full AWS / Azure / OVHcloud depending on constraints.
  • Obs.Observability: Sentry + Langfuse + PostHog. Everything monitored, everything measured.
Cross-cutting concerns

Security, scalability, marginal LLM cost: what we handle by default

AI SaaS products rarely fail on the feature itself. They fail on what's invisible: security, LLM costs, latency, production hallucinations. We address all four from sprint 0.

  • Security

Multi-factor auth by default (Clerk, Auth0, or WorkOS for enterprise), RBAC, audit logs, secrets in Vault / Doppler, SAST scanning, isolated Docker sandbox for LLM-generated code.

  • Scalability

Stateless architecture, async queues (Inngest, Trigger.dev), edge CDN, auto-scaling on Vercel / Fly.

  • LLM costs

Smart routing (Haiku first, Sonnet next), semantic caching, budget guardrails (alerts at 70/90/100%), usage-based pricing to pass costs to end users.

  • Hallucinations

Guardrails (Guardrails AI, Lakera), output validation, RAG where possible, confidence score displayed.

Budget

Pricing and engagement models

We work under three models, chosen based on your maturity and traction:

  • Classic fixed fee — €40,000 to €180,000 excl. VAT

For a v1 (3–6 months). The preferred model for scale-ups and vendors.

  • Equity-friendly

Fixed fee reduced by 30–50% in exchange for 1–4% equity. For pre-seed with strong ambition, under conditions.

  • Build-Operate-Transfer

We build and operate for 6–12 months while you hire your internal tech team, then hand over.

FAQ · AI Product Development

Six questions product & IP

The IP, code takeover, maintenance, and engagement questions we hear most often. What to lock down with a vendor or scale-up partner.

  • Do you work with pre-seed startups?

Yes, under conditions: an MVP tested with 5–10 design-partner clients, a founder able to fund at least €40K, and real ambition (>€10M ARR within 3 years). If so, we offer an equity-friendly model.

  • Who owns the intellectual property?

100% yours. Source code, designs, fine-tuned models, datasets: everything is transferred at project end. No vendor lock-in, no exclusivity clause.

  • How do you handle changes after launch?

Three options: a monthly evolution retainer (€1,200–€4,800 excl. VAT/month depending on volume), per-sprint pricing (€8,000 excl. VAT per two-week sprint), or recruiting and training your first internal tech team (Build-Operate-Transfer).

  • Which design frameworks do you use?

Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui by default. We can also deliver in Material UI, Chakra, or a custom design system. On UX, we work with your team or partner freelance designers — a dedicated UI/UX designer, never generic.

  • What about long-term maintenance?

An evolutive maintenance retainer from €1,500 excl. VAT/month: monitoring, dependency updates, bug fixes, level-2 customer support. Critical incidents handled within 4 business hours.

  • Can you take over a product that's already started?

Yes. We start with a technical audit (3–5 days, €2,800–€4,800 excl. VAT), identify critical technical debt, and propose a recovery plan. If the code is too degraded, we're upfront about it — sometimes a clean rebuild is the better call.
